Or at least better than that underwhelming cop out called The Force Awakens

Plus it’s got Ip Man I mean Donnie Yen kicking ass with Force enhanced Wing Chun!

I do. This movie is my only hope for kindling my passion in the new series of movies

Upon seeing the first trailer for this, I was much more excited for Rogue One than I was for Ep VII. Maybe because it’s set in the Ep IV time. It just had “the look and feel” of what I remember from 40 years ago. Jesus—has it been that long?

“underwhelming cop out called The Force Awakens”

You shut your filthy mouth!

I loved TFA. Of course, I’m ridiculously easy to please as far as movies go(we’ve established this numerous times) so there’s that. But I loved it, and am looking forward to Rogue One, even though I keep wanting to call it Rogue Squadron...

I was quite excited for TFA, and I loved it. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this one yet. The trailer’s cool, I guess.

Also, I thought Imperial-class Star Destroyers couldn’t safely enter planetary atmosphere? Last I heard, only the Victory-class could do that. I’m guessing that went out the window with other EU stuff.

It bothers me as well. Same with Star Trek. The Enterprise, with the exception of the saucer, was never intended for atmospheric flight. It is just wrong.

Star Destroyers carry all those troop transports and such so they don't have to land. Also, think of all the power it takes to just hover there.

Oh, goodness yes. So much this.

It’s a 1km-long hunk of unaerodynamic metal just hanging in the sky. Star Destroyers were meant as a means of force projection, like a US Navy LHA except about a multiple of 50, with the added ability of orbital bombardment and direct combat off-planet. This is precisely why they shouldn’t be in the atmosphere. They carry all the stuff to put in the atmosphere.
